Mira Fuchrer was a member of the Jewish resistance who fought the Nazis in the Warsaw Ghetto uprisings. Her boyfriend was Mordechai Anielewicz, leader of the Jewish Fighting Organization (ZOB), a group formed to resist the Nazis. She died at headquarters along with Anielewicz and several others on May 8, 1943 after the location was overrun by Nazis. Some sources suggest that they committed suicide. She died at 23 years old

The final resistance lasted approximately one month, far longer than anyone had anticipated it would.
